Microscopy Satellite
The VIB Tech Microscopy Satellite facility provides researchers with access to advanced light microscopy technologies. Operated by Axelle Kerstens, the Satellite functions as part of the broader VIB BioImaging core facilities in Leuven and Ghent. Located on the VUB Etterbeek campus in Brussels, it offers expert support in experimental design, image acquisition, and image analysis, helping researchers maximize the impact of their imaging experiments.

Cryo-EM
VIB-VUB Facility for Bio Electron Cryogenic Microscopy (BECM), run by Marcus Fislage, offers expertise and access to advanced cryo-electron microscopy technologies, supporting researchers in single-particle analysis and cryo-electron tomography from sample preparation to structure determination.
VHH technology
The VIB Nanobody® VHH Core, run by Reza Hassanzadeh, provides expertise on various aspects of VHH technology and makes VHHs available as a service to all scientists in both academia and pharma/biotech companies. Our basic package covers the immunization of a camelid, VHH library generation and the generation of a set of VHHs from this library. The platform also covers the initial production and characterization of VHHs, from off-rate screening to in-depth affinity and stability determination. The VHH core offers VHH engineering and formatting, covering sequence optimization, humanization, manifold constructs and fusions to Fc domains and half-life extensions modules. We offer advice every step of the way and our services are fully customised to our client’s needs.
